Appear ("we", "us") operates this waitlist for an upcoming clothing delivery service. This page explains what information we collect when you join, and how we handle it. The short version: we collect your phone number so we can text you once when we launch, we don't sell it or share it with anyone, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we collect
- Your phone number, when you join the waitlist.
- Your email address, only if you choose to provide it, as a backup way to reach you about your early-access offer.
- Optional survey answers, if you choose to provide them: how you shop, how often, a price preference, your city, stores you'd like to see on Appear, and any feature ideas you share. Every survey question can be skipped.
- A signup timestamp, recorded automatically.
We do not collect names, addresses, payment details, or precise location. This site does not use advertising trackers, and we do not set cookies.
How we use it
- To send you a text message when Appear launches in your city and your early-access offer (free first delivery and free first return) becomes redeemable.
- To decide which cities Appear launches in first, using aggregate city counts.
- To shape the product, using aggregate survey responses.
We will not sell your information or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Text messages (SMS)
- What you're agreeing to: by joining the waitlist you consent to receive a text message from Appear when early access launches. That is the purpose of collecting your number — we do not use it for recurring marketing.
- Message frequency: expect a single launch announcement, plus, at most, occasional service messages about your early-access offer. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier.
- Opting out: reply STOP to any message from us and you will not receive further texts. You can also email us (below) to be removed before launch. Reply HELP or email us for assistance.
- No sharing: no mobile information will be shared with, or sold to, third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used by Appear alone, for the purpose above.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase — Appear hasn't launched yet and joining the waitlist costs nothing.
Where it's stored
Waitlist data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, with access restricted so that visitors to this site can never read the list. Only Appear can access it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while the waitlist and early-access program are active. If you ask us to remove you, we delete your row entirely.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), these rights are guaranteed by law — but we honor them for everyone, everywhere.
